My “Gut Feel” and preview:
To be honest I am in dilemma after watching the trailer of the movie.
I had watched the promo over and over again in last two days, watched the interview of lead stars and director to read between the lines and make out the distinction of this movie from being an average 2.5 stars to a decent 3 stars out of 5.
I found its trailer being intelligently edited and presented which is good enough to create curiosity with urban multiplex audience. Imran is looking conventional however Kangana is looking fresh and vibrant, overall a good paring.
Going by the screen play this movie seems to hold few entertaining moments for audience however I am in doubt that it would be able to maintain the excitement among the audiences throughout the movie.
Nikhil’s last week’s release “Hero” despite being a below average movie, managed to recover the cost of production because of low budget and extensive promotions backing from Salman’s production house. Budget of “Katti Batti” is also moderate around 28 crore, running time is 2 hours 15 minutes which is good and on top of it Kangana’s presence will surely increase the chance of movie doing decent run at box office.
As far as allocating stars to this movie goes, I am not sure of giving it 2.5 stars or 3 however going with my gut feel I am sticking to 2.5 stars out of 5 stars, one day before the release.
